West Devon Homes started trading in February 1999 following the transfer of the ownership and management of the Council's former housing stock.

The Company is a Registered Social Landlord, a Registered Provider of Social Housing, a Registered Charity and the largest landlord in the district with 1588 homes in management. The transfer has enabled the Company, in partnership with the Borough Council, to generate significant extra investment to fund a programme of 'catch up' repair and improvements, and to create new housing for those in need.
