Reporting Repairs

In order to keep your home in good condition, we provide a repair service and an emergency out of hours service. A dedicated contractor maintenance team provides this service on our behalf for each area that we operate in.

You can now report a non-emergency repair to West Devon Homes using our online reporting facility.

For Emergency Repairs please contact the Repairs Hotline immediately on 01822 813205 (during normal office hours) or for out of hours emergencies please call 01822 813204. DO NOT use the online repair reporting facility for emergency repairs.

All repairs are carried out by approved contractors. We continuously monitor them to ensure they provide a prompt, high quality and value for money service.

The categories of repairs and response times are as follows:

Priority 0

Emergency
(Out of Hours)

Contact with tenant within 15 minutes.

Work to commence within 2 hours and completed or made safe within 24 hours

(outside WDH normal working hours)

Priority 1

Emergency

To be commenced within 2 hours and made safe or completed, where practical, within 24 hours

Priority 2

Urgent

To be commenced and completed within 7 calendar days

Priority 3

*Routine

To be commenced and completed within 28 calendar days

Any works required commenced and completed within the selected job priority (following and including DMT/WDH time taken to complete pre-inspection)

Recharging for Repairs
West Devon Homes may recharge tenants for a number of reasons. This includes charging for any works undertaken by our nominated contractors, that would normally be the responsibility of the tenant and/or are  required due to damage or neglect by the tenant, their household members or visitors to their home.  Examples of work we charge for include:
 
- Breakages to fixtures, fittings and glazing,
 
- Works to correct/replace unauthorised alterations by the tenant,
 
- Repairs to poor/unsafe DIY installations,
 
- Replacement of missing fixtures and fittings,
 
- General cleaning and redecoration caused by wilful damage or unreasonable neglect,
 
- Lock changes/replacement keys,
 
- Clearance of items left by you in your home, garden or neighbourhood, 
 
- Removal of untaxed motor vehicles left on West Devon Homes’ land,
