Planned maintenance
We are pleased to confirm that West Devon Homes successfully
completed the majority of its planned replacement programme
for 2009/10 on time and within budget.
During the year, the Company spent £1.75million in replacing components
which had come to the end of their useful life. The programmes completed
included the following works:
• Replacement of 85 kitchens
• Replacement of 102 bathrooms
• Replacement of doors and windows at Ryan Court
• Replacement of windows at Cranley Gardens
• Refurbishment of the communal lift at Pinder Court
• Completion of the digital TV switchover to schemes with communal
aerials before the due date
• Rewiring to 38 properties
•Minor repairs and external redecorations to 213 properties
• Pilot installation of 8 renewable technology central heating systems
The Company will continue its programme of repair and replacements into
2010/11 and is planning to spend a further £1.5million on the replacement
of the following:
• 319 Minor repairs and external redecorations
• 127 Kitchen replacements
• 146 Bathroom replacements
• 5 Replacement heating systems
• Rewiring to 12 properties
